LOVE

“The way to love anything is to realize that it may be lost.”— Gilbert K. Chesterton

Love.
It's a funny thing. I'm pretty sure you all know what day it is, whether we like it or not, it comes around every year. Reminding us of those we love, those we've lost in one way or another and things or people we devote our lives to. But in this modern age of technology and money and workaholics, have we forgotten how to truly love?

I've had my fair share of heartbreaks, haven't we all. But have we chosen to love our work and ourselves more that others? I know that I for one love my work, and I don't let a lot come between me and that. But that isn't to say I've forgotten how to love my family, because above all that's what means the most to me.

Where is our staying power? These days people are more inclined to give up and 'scroll' to the next thing or person or place. Our attention spans are basically that of which to rival a goldfish and they can be so short we lose interest in everything and everyone. Moving from job to job, person to person, house to country searching for that 'perfection' we all seek. When did it become okay to stop living in the moment? Sometimes we do. And the #Hygge of it all is that we love stopping for a minute, but only to think of our next move.

Have we chosen work over working on love? I'm not sure. But all I am sure of is that when that something or person does finally materialise, it will feel like we've been hit by a train. And trust me I know, I've felt it. Maybe the beauty in all this is that we know that whatever happens the next thing is just a click away. Or maybe that's what's holding us all back. I'm honestly not sure. But whatever you're doing and wherever you are, I hope that for today at least you can just take a moment to enjoy where you are.
