Running Towards Success - New Challenges

Monday, 22 May 2017

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” ~Thomas A. Edison

I like trying new things, but sometimes there are things I just know I can't do. For example, fitness has always been something really important to me but I'd say I'm more of a sprinter rather than a long-distance runner. Then I started working with a company that organise the biggest running events in the South and thought it might be a good time to give it a go....

We started a running club on a Monday night after work. Nothing too strenuous but just to get us started. I could barely run for the bus but now I can manage to run around a park 5 times, which for me is a big step.

I often find challenges spur me on. A little motivation never hurt anyone and a new challenge that's something a bit different can help to keep you moving forward, even if it's something small. I then heard of Runderwear. A company that sells underwear for running, to stop chaffing (yuk) and help you stay comfortable while you workout. It's ethically sourced which adds that little something extra and trust me, it's cosy. I wear it for just my usual workouts, not just the running. The sleek all black has to be my favourite I think, but then again I do love a splash of pink too .....

I'm really starting to notice a difference in my body whilst keeping with my workouts and now adding on some running too. I'd like to get to a 5K distance so let's see what happens and you never know I might actually do it.

Thank you to Runderwear for the extra comfy undies. Now I've got a proper kick start to my running challenges and I can't wait to see how it goes. Here's to a new challenge!
