TSG TRAVEL - Careys Manor Senspa

Travelling has never really been my thing, and with so many people choosing to do that after university and backpack for a year, I sometimes feel a little stagnant. Holidays are expensive and I tend to just prioritise other things when spending money, like paying off debts or buying things for my home. When I was younger, we would go on a lot of family holidays, maybe one or two a year but I just don't do it anymore and frankly unless it's work I'm not really that bothered.

Although on the other hand, holidaying somewhere in the UK and somewhere near me doesn't make me feel to anxious because I know I'm not far from home. I can still totally switch off even if I'm just half an hour away. Especially when it's such a beautiful place. Like Careys Manor in the New Forest. Just a 30-45 minute drive away from Southampton (or about the same time on a train) this place really is magical. I took my mum off for an evening to relax in the spa and for a meal to have a mini evening vacation.

We journeyed off in the car and travelled through some beautiful scenery on the way. Arriving at Careys Manor, I already felt more relaxed. We checked in at the spa reception and went to get changed into our robes. We then had a tour of the pool and all the different rooms in the spa. There are way more than I expected and I could have spent a week here and not got bored. A Herbal Sauna, a Relaxation Room, Sensory Experience Showers and the most beautiful jacuzzi. It was just too beautiful.

We chilled out in the Hydrotherapy pool, chilling on the underwater reclining beds and then moving our way around, gabbing about boys and life and all that girly stuff. We then tried out one of the sauna rooms, filled with a huge crystals and super relaxed. Then were the experience showers which were definitely an experience! Lights that change colour, hot and cold water and jets all around at different parts of the body. These were so much fun! I popped to get us some cups of water from the relaxation room then we reconvened in one of other rooms with hot beds and starlights above. This was such a nice feeling to be laying on a hot bed in a normal temperature room, just laying and thinking. This was my mums favourite room. We finished of with a dip in the jacuzzi, a little steam room and then I swam some laps while my mum was in the sauna before heading upstairs to change for dinner.

It's such a beautiful spa and there is so much to do it could take all day!

The Zen Garden restaurant is adjacent to the swimming pool and gives you a taste of Thai in the New Forest! We both picked a glass of wine to start and had some prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce, that went extremely fast after. All that relaxing is tiring .......

For the starter, we decided to get a sharing platter so we could try a few different things and trust me when I say this was wiped CLEAN! Spring Rolls, Chicken Satay, Prawn and Pork Dumplings and Cucumber Salad and it was all incredible, my favourite being the spring rolls. I would 100% recommend this if you don't know what you fancy because the selection is fabulous.

Thai is one of my favourite types of food so I was in love already. For main I had the Chicken with Cashew nuts and rice. It. Was. Uh. Mazing. I thoroughly enjoyed it and my mum tasted it as well and loved it. But props for the coolest looking dinner ever goes to my mum! There was a lot in it too and was the Prawn Phad Thai. Thai style wok fried noodles with king prawns and egg, Thai special sauce and bean sprouts, served with ground cashew nuts and a selection of condiments. And boy did it look and taste awesome, I think my mum won here! I think I'll be having that next time.....

Overall it was such a nice evening out and really not that far to travel. You can also stay in the hotel, have breakfast and enjoy the surroundings if you wanted to come for a weekend away, that's not too far away. Just try it for a weekend, switch off, relax and pretend you are far far far away from everyday life.

P.s there's a Youtube Video of the whole experience coming soon!
