*Buying A First Home: Chapel Riverside

I am now entering my 26th year of life and and still yet to buy a home. A lot of people think I own mine however I rent from family so I can spruce the place up how I see fit. Ideally I want to own a home in the next year or two, something I can call my own as well as having that first step onto the property ladder.

I have lived in Southampton my whole life, and although I love the hustle and bustle of Kensington and Chelsea, Southampton is still my little mini London with boutiques and restaurants galore. I will definitely be buying my first place here and have been looking around and preparing for some time now.

A couple of years back, I went to view a show apartment at Meridian Waterside, a development by Inland Homes* by the water just outside of town. It wasn't the right time for me however, but now they have entered the waterfront views phase of the properties in Meridian and also Chapel Riverside! I went down to have a look at the Chapel Riverside apartments and took lots of photos to show you! (scroll to the bottom for more photos)

Being just by the water, these apartments will have such wonderful views, especially as all of the surrounding areas are getting a boost too. With the introduction of Westquay Esplanade and all of the restaurants there, the cinema and places like Southampton Harbour Hotel being so close, you are never short of somewhere to go just a stones-throw away. They also feel fiercely independent, and whether this is just me because it know it would be my first place, or because they are built in a way that makes each one special, I already felt home just being in the show homes. Being new builds, they also qualify for the 'Help To Buy' scheme*! This means they are PERFECT for a first home, with a smaller deposit and a great way to kick off having your first place. However remember mortgages are no thing to be taken lightly!

These apartments are the epitome of modern living, designed with a new decade of lifestyle in mind. Busy and bustling but still wanting to incorporate comfort, with designer kitchens and bathrooms as standard and underfloor heating and luxury flooring adding to the quality feel. I always champion Southampton as one of the best places to live and work, and it really does have a good sense of that balance between the two.
