Styling Vintage Wool Coats

I've always been a secret fan of vintage clothes (not so secret when I dressed like a hippie in college) and I guess that is my way of balancing out my expensive taste and pairing a Versace bag with and old beat down t-shirt or pre-loved topshop jeans. I'm a bit of a rummager and I love to go through the rails thinking ew-ew-no-maybe-definately not- OUP found a bargain!

That's exactly how I felt when I found this camel 100% wool longline coat for £6. Camel coats have really taken my fancy this January but having not actually been paid for a long time I could do nothing but dream of waltzing into Zara and picking one straight off the rack. It's something about the lighter colour but the straight edge 'I mean business' look that the camel coat provides, as well as not clashing with most colours.

For a more casual day, I've paired it with some straight leg mom jeans and a baggy striped t-shirt, easy and comfy. But even with this look, the coat helps to make it look like I'm actually in control of my life and didn't just pop out for toilet roll and pizza so I could sink back into my sofa again ...

For smarter days I would wear a dress or a shirt and leather leggings and some mid heel boots with a faux fur scarf to compliment the simplicity of the coat. Hopefully I get lucky the next time I'm craving a coat too ....
