*Steak in Southampton: Porters Steakhouse

I pre-warn veggies or those trying to be veggie, this is NOT going to help haha!

It's no secret that I love a good steak, and even though I am trying to eat less meat and choosing veggie options every now and then, this is just something that can't be replaced.
Porters Steakhouse is located just off Oxford Street in Southampton (right next to their first venue Porters Wine & Charcuterie) with a decadent interior to boot.

On of their specialities is the Dry Aged steak and they have this all on show! You can see the glass room where they store and dry all of the meat with a solid wall of Himalayan Salt. I popped down to try some of the cocktails and steak!

We started with the Hugo cocktail which was 100% our favourite!! The Scallops for starter was a mixture of the fish and the steak main but I loved it. They were cooked perfectly and were a great pallet cleanser ready for the main.

A HUGE sharing platter came out!!!! Make sure you save your appetite because this is a LOT of steak and you will feel bad if you leave any behind trust me on that one ....
You get the choice of Sirloin, Fillet or Rib-eye with Aged beef demi-glace, Stilton cheese sauce, Peppercorn, Porters Bulleit Sauce or Chimichurri. We of course went for the classic peppercorn and to be honest I would never change, it's just the best combination. The steak was so tender and so wonderful, crispy and salty on the outside and soft and tender on the inside.

We added quiteeee a few sides and really were stuffed afterwards but we wanted to try everything. The sides added were: Roasted garlic and rosemary mash, New Forest wild mushrooms in garlic butter, Rocket salad with parmesan and lemon oil. This may not sound like much ... but when added to a huge platter of steak it didn't look like we even touched it!!

I can't explain how good the steak was and I love the idea of a platter style meal as you can choose your favourite bits of the meat and the other person/people can eat the bits they pick too!
