I am lucky enough that I get to eat at a lot of places in this job, but every now and then one comes along and shocks me! I hadn't and still haven't been to a huge amount of places in the New Forest/Brockenhurst as it's a little far for me to 'pop' to but a great destination spot.
Brilliant for in the summer there are beautiful walks and lovely picnic spots as well as some wonderful pubs, one of which being The Huntsman. I was kindly invited to try out their pizzas and Spritz cocktails and well if you know me, you know they are two of my favourite things!
The whole place had a wonderful decorative vibe that was forrest-y and green with dark blues and dark wood, but modern with an open front kitchen and pizza oven so you can see them being made from your table. As a family oriented pub, expect kids and dogs (I particularly liked the dogs part) and a friendly atmosphere. There is also a lovely outside garden with lights and high or low tables and plenty of photo locations. Onto the food ...

📍 Beef Ragu Pizza
📍 Korean Style Spicy Chicken Pizza
Plus of course some of the Spritz cocktails. I was surprised by the quality of the food, as normally you expect 'pub' food to be a little greasy or just plain, but this wasn't at all. We shared half and half of the pizzas each and I think my favourite was the Beef Ragu Pizza. The best starter for me was the Fried Chicken, as there's just something so satisfying about chicken strips amIright?
They also have hotel rooms too and we may go back to stay in one of those at some point!
